Long-awaited Live Performance by The Floating Men
ALL SHOWS SOLD OUT!
STAY TUNED FOR LIVESTREAM INFORMATION
The Floating Men haven’t released a new album or performed live since 2010, but their fans, self-dubbed “The Floatilla,” are as enthusiastic as ever, taking to social media to discuss lyrics, share memorabilia, and swap bootlegs. With the band’s blessings, a couple of key instigators went so far as to mix and press two live albums in 2021 from archived recordings. In 2023, the band released the much-anticipated live album “Dreamland,” recorded at an over-the-top performance in 2004.
The Floating Men will perform live at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville, TN Friday and Saturday, April 12-13, 2024. “The vision is still evolving but the general trajectory is to focus on fan favorites from the early years with perhaps a few new surprises. But anything could and probably will happen.” Says Holmes with a mischievous grin.

Long Awaited Live Album from The Floating Men
“That weekend was a high point on an amazing creative journey,” says writer-vocalist and co-founder Jeff Holmes. “The band was overflowing with creative energy and musical mischief. We couldn’t get everyone together on stage very often, so it was pure exhilaration when we did.”
Recorded at the album release celebration for “The Haunting” (2004) at 12th and Porter, the new live album is called “Dreamland” and has been the source of rumors among their fans for nearly 20 years. Bassist-vocalist and co-founder Scot Evans says, “At the time we were making a bumpy transition from physical products to download-only albums, so it made more sense to shelve the live album and focus on new studio projects while the industry sorted itself out.” Now, with all the streaming platforms solidly in place, the band decided it’s time.

One Final Pair
The Ghost of a Thrill Ride & Remembering Paradise
Thanks to the generosity of Executive Producers Patsy Dubos and Jeff Kibbey, and the recording, mixing, and mastering artistry of Ric "Skippy" Major, we have some new goodies for you! This gift is to mark the 30th anniversary of The Floating Men, the 20th anniversary of the Belcourt 10th anniversary show, and the 10th anniversary of the Rutledge 20th anniversary show in Nashville.
The Ghost of a Thrill Ride was captured during late summer 2002, during the band's final tour with Jeff Bishop on drums. Back to back weekends in Nashville and Chattanooga were recorded for what was to become Bootleg 5. We eventually used the 12th & Porter show in Nashville for the Boot 5 release. The previously unreleased Ghost is from the Rhythm & Brews show in Chattanooga. The live versions of songs in this collection are mostly from Invoking, Pines, Lemon Pie, and A Magnificent Man, with a few other FM classics included.
Remembering Paradise was captured in late 2003 after drummer Steve Ebe joined the band and The Haunting had been released. This is the only acoustic performance Skippy was alb to properly record because most acoustic sets were performed in the middle of a live audience with no good way to capture the audio. The song selection is similar to Ghost with songs from The Haunting added to the list.
